Dr. Lara Cabugawan:

Dr. Lara Cabugawan was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. She attended veterinary school at De La Salle Araneta University (formerly known as Gregorio Araneta University) in Malabon, Philippines. She was given an award for high score and ranking 8th place on the Philippine Veterinary Licensure Exam. After graduating, Dr. Cabugawan worked as an associate veterinarian for less than a year in a small animal practice in Manila when she finally decided to relocate to the United States. While preparing for the New York State National Board exam, she worked as a veterinary technician at the ASPCA in Manhattan and VCA Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists. She learned and became skilled with numerous procedures and this became her stepping stone to acquire her license in New York State. Following the passing of her board exam, Dr. Cabugawan started to work as a per-diem veterinarian in various hospitals located in the five boroughs of New York. Her goal is to achieve the best quality and compassionate care possible that a veterinarian can give her patients. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, being outdoors, and having karaoke battles with the staff at Queens Animal Hospital.

 Yishan Kuo, D.V.M.

Dr. Yishan Kuo was born and raised in Taiwan. She obtained her master’s and bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine from National Chung-Hsing University in Taiwan. After practicing for five years, Dr. Kuo moved to the States in search of learning more and completed one year of clinical training at Colorado State University in 2016. Dr. Kuo worked as a small animal practitioner prior to join the Queens Animal Hospital team. Dr. Kuo is a very passionate person about animal care, and her professional interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology and, especially, cardiology. In her free time, Dr. Kuo enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and cuddling with her pets, SiSi and Cepha.

Dr. Beshoy Rafla

Although he does not practice at this facility, you will see him here from time to time! He is an internship trained veterinarian (extra post-graduate education and training) who is capable of providing the best medical and surgical approach to your pet's health issues. He is a compassionate veterinarian who knows how to provide high quality medical services with the least budget. He has a special interest at managing canine and feline allergy and kidney diseases. He is also skilled at treating most of exotic pets such as; rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and hamsters. Dr. Rafla likes to offer homeopathic therapy as he believes in combining western and eastern medicine to provide the safest and most effective approach of treating various diseases. During his spare time , he likes to run in the park with his dog Leo and play tennis.
